12 Days of Christmas the Smeared and Smudged way - Day 10

Today I have a hybrid project for you.  I used a digi stamp from Simply Betty's Steampunk collection and colored her with Copic markers.  I scanned her and lightened her color up a bit.  I then printed her on photo paper and printed out a digital background from Itkupilli onto photo paper as well.  I cut out said items, assembled them, and added a couple of rub-ons.  The snow was added digitally.

For more inspiration, check out what the other jolly bloggers have created for you today.  The hop list is on my sidebar.

12 Days of Christmas...the Smeared and Smudged Way

Forgive me, but I totally forgot which day we are on. is my offering for today:

Both projects utilize Simply Betty digital stamps and are colored with copic markers.

The top image was colored with copic markers then mounted on generic black cardstock and Bo Bunny paper.  I used some chipboard stickers, but forgot which manufacturer it came from.

The bottom project has an Itkupilli digital background that I printed onto photo paper.  After cutting out my images and gluing them to the background, I scanned the image and enhanced it a bit with the Lomo feature on picnik.  It gives an awesome spotlighted area with faded, darkened edges.  I love the way this one turned out!

Check out my sidebar for links to the other Jolly Bloggers.  Leave them some love.  If you like the projects you've been seeing, check out the Smeared and Smudged forum for more inspiration.

I can just see School boy Miller with that confused look on his face... wondering "Did I really just see the ghost of Christmas past!" You have until the 13th to ring in those spirits!

Here is what the I came up with using the little Ghost Dog you could win!  If I have time, I'll post a project more Scrooged related later.  Right now I must run some errands before the snowstorm hits.  Check out the SBC blog for inspiration from our DT as well as deets on today's challenge.

12 Days of Christmas...the Smeared and Smudged 6

Remember the Zombie scene I created for the 31 days of Halloween? Look of Santa's elves decked out the zombies for the holiday season.  What?  Just because zombies eat brains doesn't mean they can't have a little Christmas cheer.  Sometimes we all need a little help getting into the holiday spirit.  I know I I am prone to the holiday blues myself.

The image used is from Strange Skin.  They have some awesome alternative digital stamps...monsters and zombies and stuff like that.  This was originally colored with copic markers and distress ink, uses DCWV paper from a photo stack, and mounted on generic black and white cardstock.  I added the santa hats with picnik.

Well, I kinda feel like just adding santa hats is cheating so I'll post another Christmas card I made.

This image is from Simply Betty Stamps.  Isn't she cute?  She is colored with copics, mounted on DCWV cardstock, and embellished with christmas light stickers, present stickers, and a stocking sticker.

OK...I can't leave you with might make your blood sugar soar.  Here's one more....

I don't remember if I posted this one previously or not.  Because Saturdays are my Smeared Ink DT posting days I figured it would only be right to end this post with an awesome Smeared Ink image.  This one is from the "As Death" rubber stamp set.  I applied three shades of distress ink directly to clay coated cardstock.  On top of that I stamped my image with black Staz-on ink.  Man...I love the smell of staz-on!  I colored a Santa's Hat from Kenny K and applied it to my creation and then mounted everything on multiple layers of DCWV cardstock.

If you like what you've seen today you should definitely check out Smeared Ink's forum....Smeared and Smudged!  It's an awesome place with a lot of diversity, inspiration, and just plain fun. The challenges are always great and you can win some awesome prizes!

Okay!  Now go and check out the work the other gals have created for you.  The hop list is on my sidebar.

SBS 12 days of Christmas...Day 7

Day 7
Today's project is "all I want for Christmas is... My Emos!" Incorporate any Emo with your Christmas project today, and use this color combo:

Purple, Lime Green, and Turquoise!

I'm liking the non-traditional Christmas cards these days.  I used Witch Betty from Simply Betty's Emo Halloweenies and colored her with copic markers.  I then scanned her and added digital snowflakes, presents, mistletoe, postage stamps, and the ornament border.  I'm not sure if I like the way it turned out, but I didn't have time to make another.  I dunno.  The card feels a bit flat and cluttered to me.  Perhaps I am just missing my intense and dark colors that I like to use?  Maybe I am just my worst critic?  Anyway, this is my offering for day 7.  Catch the deets for the challenge at the SBC blog.

Since I was not overly impressed with my offering for today, I thought I'd revist one of my older cards that utilizes the same color scheme.

This card feels more like me.  I used Simply Betty's "SassyWitch Mina" and twisted trees from Tiddly Inks.  The digi stamps are colored with copics and the background was made using distress inks.  I added dimensional smowflakes for my embellies.  The only digital enhancement I added was the sentiment.

Smeared and Smudged 12 days of 4

I'm getting sick again so I'm going to keep this short.  Today's project utilizes a Bombshell Stamp colored with copic markers.  "Naughty" was made with rub on alphas.  I used Bo Bunny papers and DCWV cardstock.

Be sure to visit the other Jolly Bloggers.  The hop list is on my sidebar.

SBS 12 Days of Christmas - Day 4

We're a quarter of the way in!!! Who hoo! Are ya havin fun? We sure are! These Betty~twists on Christmas projects are sure fun, and OMG you ladies are inspiring US! Each time we visit one of your entires our jaws drop!

Check the SBC blog for the deets on the 4th day of Christmas and prize info.

Here is what I've come up with for your inspiration:

I have used "Bahumbug Christian" from Simply Betty's Emo Christmas line.  Let me tell you, the Christmas Emos Rock!  I totally encourage you to get them in rubber.  Betty's rubber stamps are deeply etched and work great with polymor clay.  Roll out some clay, stamp some images, poke a hole at the top, paint when dry and add a ribbon....and BOOM!  You have awesome Emo Christmas ornaments!

Another idea...with a very clean rubber stamp... roll out some cookie dough, cut out shapes with cookie cutters, and press the stamp into it.  Don't press deeply enough to go through the dough, just deep enough to create an impression.  Then bake and decorate and have your own awesome Emo cookies!  How cool would that be?  Now I haven't actually tried the cookie thing, but I think it would work.  If anyone gives the cookies a try, post pics and send me the link.  I would love to see how they turn out!

Smeared and Smudged 12 Days of Christmas...Day 1

Welcome to the Twelve Days of Christmas...Smeared and Smudged Style!  Please check my sidebar for a list of the Jolly Blogggers.  For details and prize information on the Twelve Days of Christmas, click here.

Today I bring you "Delores D'ammage" from Kenny K.  Isn't she Hawt?!  You can purchase her here.  I colored Delores up with copic markers and mounted her on Blue Alpha Block paper. I think it is by Deja View, but I may be wrong.  With over 1000 papers in my stash, it's easy to forget who made what!  I also used generic black cardstock.  I then scanned my project and used some digital elements from picnik (santa hat, stamps, postage ink and the twinkling star texture overlay).

Thanks for stopping by!

SBS 12 Days of Christmas - Day 3

Are you all having fun yet? I sure am and I am getting more and more into the Christmas spirit!
Before we get onto the next Challenge we must announce the winner for Day 2...
which can be found at the SBC blog.

Okay so onto day 3... Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree...your branches dry and Creepy! Ha! How's that for a twist on a traditional Christmas song?!?

You can guess what the challenge is right???  Using any SBS image,  incorporate a Creepy Christmas Tree! Just think Emo! LOL I think if it were up to our youth of this day in age there would be ornaments with bats, skulls, and spiders! Make it cute, make it scary whatever you do just make it a Creepy Christmas Tree! After all Jack Skellington manages to do so every year at Disneyland, we can to!

Today's Prize:

Any 3 images from the new Kat Mandu and Friends line!

Now here is a little Creepy Christmas Tree inspiration from me to help you get thinking in the right direction! You have until Dec. 1st at 11:00 PM PST to upload your Creepiness!  Be sure to check out what the girls of the DT have made for your inspiration at the SBC blog!

I used one of Simply Betty's "Spooky Hallow" Digis, Damien.  Isn't he the handsome fellow?  He is printed at 4" x 6" and colored with copic markers.  I used Echo Park cardstock which can be purchased at Simply Betty Stamps.  I also used generic black cardstock for matting.  The plain ornaments on the tree are stickers.  Sorry, I don't remember the brand.  I then scanned the whole thing and added digi spiders, snowflakes, a cat, the eyeball ornaments, and the sentiment.

I hope you like what I've created!
Thanks for Stopping By!

12 Days of Christmas with SBC...Day 2

Day 2 whoop whoop! So how was Day 1 for you all? Holiday colliding fun? I sure hope so! Well as mentioned before, these 12 days we will be giving away he prize to one winner for every challenge.
Now let's get onto Day #2!  What is Christmas without the Grinch!?  Why, it's just not Christmas at all! Today we are challenging you to create the best Grinch-mas project you can think of! For this one you can use any image, doesn't have to be an SBS image, but remember it always help sway the judges when choosing a winner! Wink wink!

Today's Prize:

Any 2 SBS rubber stamps winner's choice! Remember you have until Nov. 29th at 11:00 pm PST to upload your creations to the inlinkz code on the SBC blog.

Here is my creation for your inspiration:

For the front of my card, I used Simply Betty Stamps "Pumpkin London" and colored her up with copic markers.  I scanned her into my computer and added the digital snowflakes, the Santa's hat, and the prezzies.  I also added a grungy texture overlay.  I printed London out and accented her with my Atyou Spica glitter pens.  I mounted her on generic black cardstock and added accents of Echo Park cardstock which I got from Betty.  What?  You didn't know that Betty sold papers too?  Well, you'd better check it out because she has an awesome collection that goes perfectly with her images!
For the inside of my card I took an image from the movie poster and altered it a bit.  I cropped out the title, actors, and rating and added the sentiment "Merry Grinchmas!".  I printed this and mounted it to black cardstock with my Echo Park cardstock accent.

I hope I've given you some inspiration.  Thanks for stopping by.

I used Kenny K's "Mrs. Claus" image and colored her up with Copic markers.  Is she not the hottest?  I'm talking Sizzling Hawt!  It's no wonder Santa can stay so warm in the North Pole!

After coloring Mrs. Claus I scanned her and uploaded her to my flickr account.  There I added the snowflakes, lights, border, and sentiment.  I kept this project simple because I didn't want anything to distract from this awesome image.

BTW...Did you know that Kenny K is sponsoring the Smeared ink Sketch challenges and the Smeared Ink Photo inspiration challenges this month?  Yeppers!  You can have a chance to win some of these beauties just by playing along!

Smeared Ink Saturday

Here is yet another installment of Smeared Ink Saturday.  Today I am featuring three sets of Smeared Ink Stamps:  "Candy is Dandy", "Urban Decay", and "As Death".  These sets can be purchased at

This first project uses a background image from "Urban Decay" colored with Copic Markers and mounted on a caution sticker and DCWV cardstock.  The green creature is from the "Candy is Dandy" stamp set and colored with my copics.

My second project uses "As Death" rubber stamp set, colored with Ranger Distress Ink and mounted on a series of printed Itkupilli digital backgrounds and black cardstock.  The whole piece was then scanned and enhanced with picnik photo editing.

My last project uses "As Death" which was stamped onto clay coated cardstock and colored with Ranger Distress Inks in three shades of green.  A digital Santa's hat from Kenny K was printed, colored, and cut out to add a bit of Christmas cheer.  The piece was mounted on DCWV cardstock.
