Challenge Time

I have some medically induced time on my hands and decided to pass the time being crafty. Here is my creation for today:
(click image to enlarge...if you dare)

Smeared Ink Stamps:
"Howling Wolf" from the "Part of the Pack" digi set
"Grave Scene 3" from the "Holy City" digi set
"Open Bust" from the "Gross Anatomy" digi set
The moon is from a digital scrap kit I got from oscraps.
The blood splatter was created by me. This looks so much better in real life.
My scanner doesn't really pick-up glitter and shimmer too well.

I assembled and colored the focal image in PSE8 and printed it out on 4 x 6 glossy photo paper. I mounted this on some shimmery black cardstock which was punched with my MS "Drippy Goo" punch and red glittery cardstock with a green ribbon sandwiched in the middle.

I wish the green ribbon showed more as it is some of the most awesome ribbon I've ever seen. (Thanks for the RAK, Barb).

I used some black ribbon at the top of the page and an awesome metal spider charm in the left hand corner of the photo (Thanks for the RAK, Andrea).

The cool spiderweb paper was a RAK from Croms. I feel so loved :)

Sorry if I'm rambling on and on. It's the painkillers.

Cheers!

Here are the challenges I wish to enter:

Robyn's Fetish Challenge #113- "No Flowers" - You spoke, I listened.  No flowers were used :)

The Squirrel and the Fox - Make it sparkle, I used black shimmer cardstock and red glitter cardstock and added a shiny metal spider embellishment.

Make it Monday - Anything goes - My project is "something" :)

Poisoned Peas Please - Gothic or Emo (must leave comment) - I hope my project counts, if not you may remove it :)

Haunted Design House MM #139 - Strange brew, use 2 layers, 1 main image, metal bits, black pearls, ribbon or trim and one punched element.
I used more than 2 layers, I hope that still counts. I used 2 ribbons, the green in the middle under the photo and the black trim at the top of the card. My metal bit is the spider embellishment. My punched bit is the drippy goo border under the main image. For the black pearls I used black puffy paint in the upper left hand corner of my card. I hope the scene I've created counts as one main image.

Totally Stampalicous - red, white, and? - I used red, white, and black.

Incy Wincy Designs - "Anything Goes"

Hooked on Craft Challenges - "All that Glitters" - I used red glittered cardstock and black shimmery cardstock as well as a shiny metal embellishment.

Love to Create - "Anything Goes"

Digi Makeover Challenge - "Anything Goes, must use digi" - I used digi images
Bearly Mine - "Anything Goes"

Creative Card Crew - "Use 1, 2, 3 of anything".  I used one metal embellishment, 2 pieces of ribbon/trim,  I used 3 different brands of cardstock

Party Time Tuesdays #74 - "Anything Goes"

FULL MOON MADNESS with Smudgy Antics

Happy Monday!
The challenge over at Smudgy Antics this week is
"FULL MOON MADNESS"

Many people think the mystical powers of the full moon are capable of inducing erratic behaviors.  It has been argued that there is an increase in arguments, fights, psychiatric hospital admissions, crime rates, homicides, emergency room calls, accidents, etc.  Ask any nurse, police officer, teacher or anyone that deals with the public on a regular basis and he or she will testify that there is truth to Full Moon Madness.  If the full moon can affect regular humans in such bizarre ways, don't forget about its affect on Lycanthropes!  That would be a horrible, possibly deadly, mistake!

Are you a believer or a skeptic?  What represents Full Moon Madness to you?
Head over to the Smudgy Antics blog and show us through your art!

Here is what I think of when I see a full moon:

All images (sans the moon and blood) are digital stamps from Smeared Ink.
"Howling Wolf" from the "Part of the Pack" digi set
"Grave Scene 3" from the "Holy City" digi set
"Open Bust" from the "Gross Anatomy" digi set
The moon is part of a digi scrapbook kit I own.  The blood splatter was made by me.  I felt a bit gruesome today ;)

Everything in my project was colored and manipulated digitally in PSE8.  It took a long time!  I love playing with the digi stuff, but I color much faster with my copics!

Be sure to head over to the Smudgy Antics Blog to join in the fun.
If you enjoy our challenges, you should check out the Smeared and Smudged Forum where there are additional monthly challenges and swaps hosted by Smeared Ink.

Cheers!

Smudgy Antics Weekly Challenge - PRETTY CREEPY

This week's challenge at Smudgy Antics was a tough one for me!

The theme is PRETTY CREEPY.

We were asked to use a dark, Gothic or creepy image and make a pretty, beautiful, classy, or elegant project with it.
My style is definitely NOT pretty, beautiful, or elegant in any type of way and I am definitely NOT classy!  Here is my offering:

I used the "Plaque" image from Smeared Ink's "As Death" digi set.  I printed the image on 4x6 glossy photo paper and colored bits with my copic markers.  I mounted this on alternating layers of black and pearl metallic paper.  The photos don't show it, but the piece has amazing shimmer IRL.  I used EK punches around the borders.  That's about as fancy as I can get.  I wanted to add some roses, but I ran out of my stash and haven't had time to make any new ones.  Instead, I added the heart with wings charm from Creative Imaginations and two crown charms that I got from the wonderful Andrea.  Thanks, girl!

Head over to the Smudgy Antics blog to get some more inspiration from the DT gals and then glance at the rules and get started on a project of your own!

Cheers!

Pigment Play with HDH137

I'm ditching my responsibilities for a bit to play with MM HDH137
Perplexing Pigment Play.
We were asked to use the colors black, teal, purple, and lime green.
Upon coloring I decided that I am in major need of more markers in this color scheme.  Forgive the poor blending that makes my project look like a third grade child made it.  Here is my offerings:

I continued on with Smudgy Antics' Bad Baby theme, but recolored my fat book pages to fit the challenge.  These bad babies are from Smeared Ink's "Babies of the Damned" collection.

Enjoy!

Smudgy Antics Weekly Challenge - Bad Baby

It's time for Smudgy Antics' Weekly Challenge.
This week's theme is

Bad Baby.

A little different, huh?  Well, that's how we roll over at Smudgy Antics and its sister forum Smeared and Smudged.

For this challenge, I made a fat book using some of the creepiest baby and toddler images around.  The images are from Smeared Ink's "Babies of the Damned" digi stamp set and everything has been colored with copic markers.

Smudgy Antics Weekly Challenge and Skull Appreciation Day

You have reached the blog of Lady Brayton.

I know most of you out there know me, but today is a special day and I will be receiving several visitors on a long journey and I don't want anyone getting lost along the way.

If you are participating in the Skull Appreciation Day blog hop, you should have arrived here from Helen's awesome blog.  If not, you can click here to start at the beginning of the hop.  You are not required to hop in order, but it makes it much easier to get lost if you don't.  I will post the entire hop list at the bottom of this post.

I am posting early, but please note that the official hop time is June 4th at 9:00am Pacific time.  If you hop early, there may be some blogs that haven't posted yet.  Make sure you leave a comment at every blog to have a chance at winning a prize or two.

Today's post does double duty.  It is Monday and that means it is time for the new challenge over at the Smudgy Antics Blog.  The theme this week is anything goes so I encourage everyone doing this hop to submit your project to the challenge (a rubber or digi stamp must be used to enter).  Since anything goes, I combined my Smudgy Antics project with my Skull Appreciation Day project.

What is Skull Appreciation Day?  It's the international day for cranial love.  We are celebrating the cranium.  You can read about the origin of Skull Appreciation Day here.

Here is my tribute:

Papers: 7 Gypsies
Ribbon: Creative Imaginations
Other: Modpodge, acrylic paint, zing embossing powder, silicone glue, UTEE, and some handmade flowers from a friend.

Your next stop on the hop is the amazingly talented Fiona.
