Smudgy Antics Weekly Challenge - PRETTY CREEPY

This week's challenge at Smudgy Antics was a tough one for me!

The theme is PRETTY CREEPY.

We were asked to use a dark, Gothic or creepy image and make a pretty, beautiful, classy, or elegant project with it.
My style is definitely NOT pretty, beautiful, or elegant in any type of way and I am definitely NOT classy!  Here is my offering:

I used the "Plaque" image from Smeared Ink's "As Death" digi set.  I printed the image on 4x6 glossy photo paper and colored bits with my copic markers.  I mounted this on alternating layers of black and pearl metallic paper.  The photos don't show it, but the piece has amazing shimmer IRL.  I used EK punches around the borders.  That's about as fancy as I can get.  I wanted to add some roses, but I ran out of my stash and haven't had time to make any new ones.  Instead, I added the heart with wings charm from Creative Imaginations and two crown charms that I got from the wonderful Andrea.  Thanks, girl!

Head over to the Smudgy Antics blog to get some more inspiration from the DT gals and then glance at the rules and get started on a project of your own!

Cheers!

  5. You did it! You achieved elegant, pretty and creepy all in the same piece. The lacy borders make a beautiful frame for this image which is perfectly coloured to heighten its creepiness. I love the crowns and heart embellies you added. WoW! Thanks for joining our Art With No Boundaries challenge. Very cool piece of art.
