Bloody Valentine's Hop with Smeared and Smudged Day 2 of 3

Hi!  Lady Brayton here.  I'm joining in the Bloody Valentine's Hop with Smeared and Smudged.  Although I'm posting early, the hop officially goes live at 9am Pacific time on Feb. 11th, 12th and 13th.  Be sure to hop along as you are sure to see some
 bloody good work :)

If you have arrived here from Violent Kitty's blog, you are on the right track.  If you found my blog by accident why not start at the beginning with Shell's blog?  After viewing my little offering, your next stop on the hop is Samara's blog.

My offering today is another card.  My original version was very clean and simple.  After my 12 hour shift I decided to add some dripping blood from the head that the "SH Enforcer" (drawn by RSD) is holding.  I envisioned the drips of blood pooling on the ground forming an abstract heart shape.  It would be gorgeous in the only way that blood can be.

Oops!  Yep.  I made a big boo-boo of a mess!

They say in art there are no mistakes...just creative opportunities.  I say I had to get VERY creative to fix my mistake.  I tried white India ink, white paint and finally a white sharpie paint marker.  Nothing was getting rid of my unwanted blood stains.  Darn Copic markers!  Darn R89!  I didn't want to scrap the card and I didn't have time to start over.

What do you think I did?

OK.  I won't keep you hanging.  I had printed another version of the image and cut out the negative space by the head and the Enforcer's leg and boot.  This worked well, but I now had a seam of paper that wasn't flattering.  I had to get creative again.  By this point my brain cells were actively dying and I needed to sleep, but I am stubborn and I was going to finish this card even if it killed me.  Thankfully, the light bulb in my brain turned on again.  I took scraps of the DP and used my Devil's Drippy Goo punch and added a border to part of the side as well as the bottom of my card.  My blood and my seam were now covered.

I have never been so happy to finish a card!
In fact, I was so happy I forgot to take a picture of the inside of the card.  D'oh! Anyway, the inside reads:

"Honey, I know you said you wanted a skull for Valentine's Day, but don't worry.  The flesh will rot off this one soon enough."

Baahahahaha!
