Week 2 of Use Metal with Smudgy Antics

Welcome back for week 2 of the fortnight challenge with Smudgy Antics!

The theme for this challenge is to use METAL in your projects.
Of course you can always use Tim Holtz or other brand name pre-made metal embellishments, but we find it much more interesting if you use metal from an actual hardware store, scrap metal, found metal objects, recycled soup cans and aluminum pop, soda, or fizzy drink cans, etc.

Use your imagination and see how clever you can get using metal while still using a stamped image somewhere in your project.  As we always say, the more creative and inventive, the better your chance of a win so get your tin snips ready and make something that will blow us away!

Here is my take on the challenge:
(click pics to enlarge)

I used Smeared Ink's "BLUEBIRD RIDER" and colored the image with my Copic markers.  I printed a second copy of the image and fussy cut the wing, talons, and beak of the bluebird and applied metal tape to them.  I embossed the wing and talons/foot with various cuttlebug folders.  I used metal eyelets, brads, and turn mounts for the steampunk look.  I punched cogs from some faux metal paper and used the same paper as the backing for the whole piece.  The harness and gas mask was painted with silver glitter dimensional paint.  I added a tiny metal key hanging from the birdie's beak.
The background was made with various Distress Ink colors.

Thanks for stopping by!
