"IN THE WILD" with Smudgy Antics Week 2

Welcome back for week 2 of the fortnight challenge with Smudgy Antics!
The theme for this challenge is "IN THE WILD" .  We want to see how far you can take this challenge!  The more creative and out of the box the better your chances of a win!

If you are totally clueless, you can use an image of something found in the wild or you can create a scene that depicts being "in the wild".  You can even use actual elements of the great outdoors such as twigs, sticks, leaves, flowers, feathers, and stones, etc.

Here is my take on the challenge:

I used the "Lady Digi" from Smeared Ink's "Specimen Jar" digi set.
She is colored with Copic Markers and the background is distress inks.  I think I went a little too heavy on the black, but other than that I like my piece.  I colored duplicate butterflies and glued only the center parts so the wings look dimensional in real life.  I also took a butterfly from the "Man Digi" which is also from the Specimen Jar Setcolored it, and punched out eye holes so it looks like a mask on the lady.  Once again I only glued the center part of the butterfly so the wings flair out.  I also used a miscellaneous tree stamp and heat embossed tree branches around the sides of my piece.

Be sure to head over to Smudgy Antics for more details on the challenge and to get more inspiration from the remainder of the DT.

  1. Lady B,
With all you have gong on, you can still make such awesome art work! You have colored these images beautifully, love how you cut out the holes so you can see her eyes!I love your BG, and using orange, then yellow, then black CS, for the backing are the perfect colors for this! I like your watermark too!
    Peace,
