CRUMBLE IT with Smudgy Antics

A fortnight has passed and it is time for another challenge with Smudgy Antics.

The theme for this two week period of creativity is

CRUMBLE IT.

Here is the definition of crumble (verb):

1. disintegrate, collapse, break up, deteriorate, decay, fall apart, perish, degenerate, decompose, tumble down, go to pieces
2. crush, fragment, crumb, pulverize, pound, grind, powder, granulate, go to wrack and ruin, break down

The word crumble sounds pretty destructive, doesn't it?  We at Smudgy Antics challenge you to crumble your project in some fashion this fortnight.  If it is not evident as to how you have crumbled your project, please describe your crumbling technique in your post.  Don't forget to use a stamped image (real or digi) in your projects.

Here is my take on the challenge:

I started with a simple manila tag.  I added a few layers of Dylusions Spray Inks for some quick and vibrant color.  Then I crumbled my tag into a ball, opened it, and crumbled it about three more times until the tag was soft, pliable, and full of wrinkles.  I then used distress inks in mustard yellow, rusty hinge, fire brick red, and black soot.  I rubbed the various inks over the wrinkled and crinkled areas highlighting the textures the crumbling created. 

 After the ink was dry, I ironed my tag so it would be flat enough to adhere my image and embellishments.  I used a die cut from a friend that I colored with copic markers.  The candles were painted with Tulip puffy paint and heat blasted to make the paint puff even more.  The flames were painted with puffy paint as well, but I did not heat them as I wanted the shiny look of the paint.  I glued the die cut to my tag with glossy accents.  

I added a decorative metal button surrounding the hole of the tag.  This was attached with glossy accents as well as the skull at the bottom of the tag.

My stamped image is "Raven 1" from Smeared Ink's "Quoth the Raven" set.  Although I gave you the links to the digital version of the stamp and set, this set comes in rubber as well.  I used the Rubber version in my tag.  I stamped the raven several times and fussy cut it and glued the layers with silicone glue for extra dimension.  It doesn't show well in the photo, but it looks really cool in real life.  Want this set in rubber?  Check out Smeared Ink's Rubber Club to find out how this set and other exclusive sets can be yours.
