Smudgy Antics Weekly Challenge - "Itsy Bitsy Spider"

Welcome back for another week of challenges and a huge
congratulations to the prize winner and the chosen top two from last week's "Dragon Tales" challenge!

Are you ready for some more fun?
The theme for this week is:
"Itsy Bitsy Spider"

The Itsy Bitsy Spider is a nursery rhyme in the US.  I know every culture and country has their own nursery rhymes or tales told to the wee ones.  This week we want you to turn nursery rhymes into something scary or creepy.  The more twisted, the better!  Make the little hairs on the back of our necks stand on end.  Make a project that is nightmare worthy.  Please source the nursery rhyme you are using or better yet, write out the rhyme in your blog post for those that may not be familiar with nursery rhymes.
Most importantly, have fun!

Here is my take on the challenge:

I used one of Smeared Ink's newest images.
Meet "Little Miss Muffet" from
Smeared Ink's "Framed Rhymes" digital stamp set.

Here is the rhyme:

Little Miss Muffet sat on a tuffet
Eating her curds and whey,
Along came a spider,
Who sat down beside her
And frightened Miss Muffet away!

As you can see, this Little Miss Muffet isn't afraid of some silly spider.  Me thinks she is the one who should be feared!  Heck, just look at the gruesome additions to her curds and whey.  Ick!

Little Miss Muffet is colored with Copic markers and was then fussy cut.  She is mounted upon a piece of scrap vinyl that I've had in my stash for about a year now.  I stamped spider webs on the vinyl with Staz-on Metallic Ink in Silver.  I further mounted the vinyl on alternating pieces of black and white cardstock.  The black spider on the right side of the picture is a die-cut given to me by a dear friend, Helen :)  To add some shine, which sadly doesn't show in the picture, I stamped the die-cut with versa mark ink and sprinkled black embossing powder and used my heat gun to melt it.  For the web in which the spider is descending from I used a silver metallic sharpie marker.

Head over to the Smudgy Antics Blog for more inspiration and to meet the newest member of Smeared Ink's Design Team!

While Smudgy Antics offers awesome weekly challenges, the Smeared and Smudged forum offers month long challenges for those that may not have as much crafting time available. There are also monthly blog hops, matchbook and atc swaps, holiday swaps, etc.  If you join the forum you are sure to meet new friends and network with some very talented individuals.
