Smudgy Antics Weekly Challenge: POP ART

Congratulations to the winner and top ONE of the
"Creatures of the Night" challenge last week!

This week's challenge theme is:
"POP ART".

We want your projects this week to really POP!  Think dimension.  Think 3-D.  Use pop-dots, decoupage, or any technique of your choosing to make your images pop-out at us.  Heck, you can even use a spring to add some real pop with an added bonus of bounce!

We love when you guys and gals think outside of the box.  The more creative and inventive, the better!  We love it when you surprise us with something amazing and unexpected.  Head over to Smudgy Antics for more inspiration and to play along with the challenge!

Here is my offering for this challenge:

I used "Skull Front" from Smeared Ink's "Anatomy 101" digi set.
I also used "Raven Wings" from Smeared Ink's "Quoth the Raven" set.  I am lucky enough to own this set in rubber as well as digi.  The wings were stamped with Versa Mark embossing ink. covered with black embossing powder, and blasted with my heat gun.

The skull was printed 6 times and fussy cut into layers.  I glued the layers with silicone glue from the hardware store and set it aside to dry.  This gives great depth and dimension to the piece.  I cut the eyes out of each layer except the first to give a sunken look.  I forgot to do this to the nose, but I think it still looks good.  I added extra shading with my copic markers.  To achieve the shine, I dipped the completed piece into my melting pot full of UTEE.  In person, it looks like a porcelain skull.  I learned this technique from my UK friends.  Thanks, BD and Crom's!

The tag was made with Dylusions Inks.  I used both homemade stencils and a
Tattered Angels stencil.  The skull and wings were attached with glossy accents.  The ribbon was a clearance buy from a few years ago.  I don't remember the manufacturer.  The skull beads came from a Halloween bracelet i had and cut apart in order to use the skulls in projects.

Sorry I couldn't get better pics of the dimension of my skull.  Shiny things are so hard to photograph!

Cheers!
