Smudgy Antics Weekly Challenge - TOUCH ME!

It's time again for another fun challenge over at Smudgy Antics!

This week's theme is "TOUCH ME".

Yep. It's all about textures this week!

How creative can you get with your embossing powders, embossing folders, and embossing tools? Do you have feathers laying around or metal bits? Use them! Do you have any spackling compound laying around or plaster of paris? Play with that or any other medium that creates texture! What? You have velvet ribbons or flowers in your stash? Put them to good use in this challenge! Let's see how creative you can get! Don't be afraid to get messy. Most of all, don't be afraid to play along! We have crafters of all levels here so join in the fun!

Here is my creation:

I altered a skull paper mache mask.  I achieved texture with spackling compound (I used Smeared Ink's "Urban Decay" rubber stamp set in the spackle for texture), metal tape over dry wall tape, a plastic beaded necklace, brads, and left over blades from various craft cutting tools.

I painted with black paint and rubbed most of it off for an aged effect.  I then dipped my finger in silver metallic paint and gently rubbed over the beads and the raised areas of spackle to highlight the texture.

Since my stamp use wasn't very evident in the pictures, I added additional stamped images on the sides of the  mouth.  I used a Smeared Ink digi stamp from the "Glam Vamps" set and colored it with red marker.  I applied glossy accents to clear plastic pieces and adhered the stamped image to the plastic.  I then hot glued the plastic behind the openings in the skull by the mouth.

I got some of the techniques and ideas from this fabulous video.
