Mixed-Media Mash Up - Smeared and Smudged's March Member Blog Hop

It's time again for the Smeared and Smudged member blog hop!
The theme for this month is Mixed-Media Mash Up.
The hop goes live March 15th at 9:00 a.m. PST.

We were challenged to step outside of our comfort zone and give mixed-media a try.  A stamped image, rubber or digi, must be used as stamping is the Smeared and Smudged way.

Here is my creation:

Sorry for the poor picture quality.  I ran out of daylight and had to use my cell phone for photos.  For my project I used layers of water colors, ink, acrylic paint, and markers.  I would have liked to have built up more texture, but I'm a last minute type of gal and didn't leave myself enough time to do so.  I used several Smeared Ink rubber stamps as well as bubble wrap in my art journal page.

This was my first attempt at a mixed-media piece.  It didn't turn out exactly how I wanted it too, but it's not horrible.  I just think I need to play around more to find my style and learn how to blend images in a bit better.  I did enjoy the freedom of experimenting with the different mediums.

The hop list is below.  Go check out the awesome creations and leave the ladies some love.  Thanks for stopping by!

  2. Really fab and colorful, Lady B. IKWYM about building up the layers, though. All that drying time doesn't set well with me. (Im definitely a last minute kinda gal, myself. You've created lots of depth with your stamping and doodling, though. I love it! xxD
