Welcome to the monthly Smeared and Smudged member blog hop! Our theme this month was to use metal in a project. Easy, right? Well, the metal couldn't be in the form of brads or eyelets. I had such grand plans for this! Unfortunately, I flaked and forgot about the hop until a night or two ago (blushes with embarrassment) and have worked late the past two days. I must say I cheated a bit on this one, which is not common for me, but I ran out of time and wanted to at least post something (holds head down in shame).
Here is my offering:
I used an awesome zombie image drawn by artist James Garza. He was kind enough to allow me to color yet another one of his wonderful creations. Technically, I cheated twice. I just realized I entered a project with line art and not a stamp, but heck...if I can resize it and received it in digital format can't it count as a digi stamp? I know, I am pushing my limits. Perhaps I won't flake next month. I just REALLY wanted to color up this zombie as I LOVE it so!!! I will be entering this in HDH's Macabre Monday as well. Their challege this week is Zombie Apocalypse. The zombie girl is colored with copic markers and distress ink. I couldn't figure out where to add metal on this without wrecking my project so I decided to make an altered frame. Now...remember how I flaked on the project until a day or two ago? Don't ask me how I thought I'd finish my frame in time for the hop! Being the digital age, I busted out photoshop and found a cool pic of a saw blade online. I messed with it a bit so I could created a frame. Sorry that I cheated, but time was not on my side this month. I still dig the end result and hope that you do too!
Cheers!
