Smeared Ink New Release Blog Hop!!!

SmearedInk

Smeared Ink is having a new release!  In celebration, the Smeared Ink DT members are having a blog hop. Be sure to check out each blog to see the awesomeness the ladies have created for your viewing pleasure.

Four exquisite new stamp sets are available for preorder now,  including artwork from Misty Benson and two must-have background sets.  Preorders will ship by November 30.

Here is a peek at the new stamps which are available for pre-order at the store.

I used a background image from Smeared Ink's new rubber stamp line "Urban Decay".  Rather than use this as a background piece, I grunged it up so that it would look awesome center-stage.   I had sooo much fun creating with these grungy images.  Stay tuned for more projects using this set.  These stamped images would be ideal for ATCs, scrapbooking, altered art, or projects with clay.  I'll bet they'd make great charms if stamped on shrinky dink material and baked.  Oh....the ideas are flowing!  Heck, I may even make Christmas ornaments out of these bad boys!

The bottom image is my original.  I used a ton of distress ink in crused olive, spiced marmelade, shabby shutters, fired brick, and vintage photo.  I brightened the "open" area with copic markers and dotted my copic markers over the whole piece to add to the grunginess.  I used apple green (forgot the number), R27, R59, G19, and Y17.  Other than the reflective background, this is all done by hand.

The first photo is actually the same project, but I played around with a paint splatter filter on picnik and darkend the photo up a bit.

For you newbies to Smeared Ink Stamps, be sure to check out our forum, Smeared and Smudged.  There are awesome folks with a plethora of artistic talent.  We have monthly challenges, image swaps, and ATC swaps.  There is even a "Vent" section for the members to chat as well as a gallery to share your stamped creations.  You should definitely check it out.  All artistic styles are welcomed.  This was a relief for me as other groups have banned my projects in the past.  It's awesome having a place to share my work with a group of people that don't make me feel like I belong on the Island of Misfit Toys.

Thanks for Stopping by!
