SBC 12 days of Halloween/Smeared Ink 31 Days of Halloween!!!

This is a double-duty post. Sorry if this is scattered and confusing, but I am way too sleep deprived to be coherent these days.  I am representing Smeared Ink's 31 days of Halloween as well as Simply Betty Stamps 12 Days of Halloween. Throughout the month you will see various stamped projects with a Halloween theme. Both groups are offering up huge prizes so please check out both sites for the details. Added to the mix will be some of my photography and non-stamped Halloween projects for your visual enjoyment.

On the First Day of Halloween My Ghoul love gave to me... One smiling Skellington Head!

Okay, SBC lovers, Your challenge today is to incorporate one or more Skeletons on your cards or project. Pretty Simple eh? Okay here is the hard part... you have until October 2nd to complete and post your project over at SBC.

The Smeared Ink Details and Links are Listed below my project.

Here is my offering.

Stamp: Smeared Ink Stamps "As Death"
Paper: DCWV
Other: Distress Inks, Staz-On Ink, black hemp cord, ruby red bling for the eyes.

I started with white clay-coated cardstock and applied various shades of blue distress ink directly from the pad to the paper.  I went from lightest to darkest so as not to contaminate/stain the lighter colored ink pads.  I purposely left white streaks and overlapped colors for visual interest.  I used the same technique with oranges and red for my second layer of cardstock.  I then stamped my image with Jet Black Staz-On Ink.

As you can tell, I trimmed and cut areas of my ATC to give it a more appealing border.  I mounted everything onto DCWV black glitter cardstock and pierced some holes around the edges.  Black hemp cord was hand-sewn around the border of the ATC and the red blingy gemstones were added to the eye sockets.
