Simply Betty Victorian Beauties Release Blog Hop

Hey All!
I was lucky enough to win a Guest DT Member spot with Simply Betty Stamps for the month of August.  How cool is that?!  As part of my reward, not only do I get to work with a bunch of talented ladies, but I get to work with some fabulous images as well!

Today we bring you the Victorian Beauties!
Here's what Betty had to say:

"Hello hello all! Welcome our Victorian Beauties Release Blog Hop! Today we have six wonderful new digis! I have always tinkered for the beauty and elegance of anything Victorian. So I had to have my own twist added to them! These Victorian Beauties were brought to life for me by a new artist Gretchen Flores. I absolutely fell in love with them when she sketched them out for me! I had them in my head, and started working on them, but ran across Gretchen and adored her style! So I though hey why not have her work on these for me as I work on other images that continue to flow around in my head! I gave her the concepts and she sketched her little heart out! These digis are now available in the shop, and will be made into rubber in just a couple of months along with the Summer Emos! So please check back for rubber updates."

What's a hop with out prizes and discounts right?

Posted below are my creations for today's hop.

My first card features James in all of his finery, waiting for the ball.  He is colored with Copic markers.  I made the flying skull embellies with a bat die and some cool skull beads given to me by my fellow S&S DT member, Sarah K.  The paper is DCWV "Le Creme" stack and you can actually feel the velvet on it!  I kept the card simple as I wanted James to be the center of attention.

Next comes Elaine dressed elegantly, perhaps waiting for her male caller.  Me thinks she may have a thing for James, but don't tell Mina!  She even chose a matching outfit so they'd make quite the impression whilst dancing.  Once again, Copic markers and DCWV "Le Creme" paper.  While creating, I discovered that most of my markers have been sucked dry!  It must have been the copic vampire!  It can't have anything to do with the fact I have been off all summer and coloring like a mad woman!  Anywho, my coloring may be a bit blotchy as a result.  Also, I ran out of all of my grays.  Luckily I remembered that using colors opposite eachother on the color chart makes gray tones.  Ex: red and green, yellow and purple, orange and blue.  That is how I achieved the gray tones used.  Man!  I can't wait to get my refills!  Coloring will be so much faster and nicer!  I used a sheer silk bow and some metal clasps for adornment.  Sorry about the dark photos.  My scanner is rebelling.

Now, time for Mina to make her grand entrance!  Look out for her!  She may have innocent doe eyes, but don't let that fool you!  She didn't get the tatters on her dress whilst saying her prayers!  She is the feisty one of the group.  She uses her hanky to hide her smirk as she eavesdrops on the men's conversations and can often be found flirting with every available man around.  A refined Victorian Lady?  Perhaps not, but she is a helluva lotta fun!
Image colored with Copic markers.   DCWV "Main Street" paper stack used.  The flower was made with my cuttlebug and embellished with a decorative metal button.

Thanks for hopping with us!
Cheers!
