The Burtonesque Dolls Challenge #3/off the wall craftiness challenge

Ever try to squeeze one project into a few categories?  That's what I tried to do, except I was a bucket head and forgot to link back to one of the challenges so it didn't count.  I also didn't follow one of the challenge rules (to use birds for off the wall craftiness), but I was so excited about my card I posted it anyway.  I was also under the influence of pain killers and muscle relaxers.  Believe me...when they say you shouldn't do ANYTHING that requires mental alertness they weren't kidding!!!  I was a mess, but my back did feel better.  Anyway, back to Off the Wall Craftiness challenge, I know my project won't count, but I still loved so much I had to post it.  Also, I wanted to do right by my girl, Kim, and give her blog credit.  She has cool challenges every week, is always great about visiting everyone's page and giving them positive feedback, and is just an awesome person.  Check out her blog here.

Now to the Burtonesque Dolls Challenge.  I stumbled upon The Burtonesque Dolls a short while ago and finally have the opportunity to play!  Here's the challenge, "We all know how wacky and fun Tim Burton is, and what would a Burton film be with out a little dark side to it right? So, this challenge is Tim Burton Elements... use black flowers and skulls in your project! Now is that easy as apple pie or what?!"
The prize sponsor is Tickled Pink Stamps.  Tickled Pink Stamps is an Australian based online company that stocks a range of popular and well sought after stamps from many companies and is only going to grow. Tickled Pink Stamps stocks stamps such as Mo Manning, Magnolia, Kraftin'Kimmie and MANY more. And just recently Tickled Pink Stamps went into a new venture and now have their VERY OWN line of stamps called the Lil Lolita Collection, with 5 gorgeous, quirky and cute girls and more to come in the coming months. With many more exciting things coming in 2010.

This week's prize will be one (winner's choice) of Tickled Pink Stamps Lil Lotia stamps! That's right you get to choose any one of the 5 they have in store! So make sure you check them all out as you will want all of them!

Here is my take on the challenge:

I don't own any Burtonesque Stamps....YET (soon, my darlings) so I used a Sweet Pea Stamp designed by Ching-Chou Kuik.  She is colored with love and copic markers.  The flowers are die-cuts from cuttlebug.  Finally, the bat and skull digital images are from Itkupilli.  I will also be featuring this card in the Smeared and Smudged Forum under the "Fairy Fantasy" group.  This is my first attempt at a card like this and am pretty pleased with the outcome.  I hope you like what you see.  If you like "alternative" stamping and scrapping, be sure to stop by Smeared and Smudged and the Burtonesque Dolls to check out the fabulous work by amazingly talented ladies and gents.  Cheers!
