The "Necro Neck wear" challenge is to create a piece of
original artwork that may be chosen as a new design for
Kustom Kaskets, and they will also make the winning design
into a pendant for one lucky winner!!! How cool, right?!
I did a photoshoot with my kitty during the Halloween season and thought the pics would be perfect for this challenge. I don't have any jewelry making supplies so I made faux frames and links in photoshop. Tell me this wouldn't make a kick-ass bracelet?! Any individual part of the bracelet could be made into a pendant necklace. What a sweet set it would be!
I have another SBS preview from the 50's Emo collection. Meet Lola!
I colored Lola with copic markers and scanned her into my pc. I added her to this fabulous scene I created with "kitty designs" digi elements from her "dwelling hill"kit that I purchased fromoscraps. Believe it or not, the digi kit was in the clearance section for $1. Yep, one dollar! I think the tree was from another kit of hers, but that kit was also only a buck. The kits contain way more stuff than I used. You should totally check it out. With minimal photoshop skillz you too can create something like this. The sky paper was a freebie, but sorry...I don't remember the source.
Here's a little something I maded using Smeared Ink's "As Death" rubber stamp set.
I stamped the image with versa mark onto black cardstock and heat embossed with black zing embossing powder. I then painted the image with wet perfect pearls to end up with this cool shimmery effect. I scanned the image to my computer and made a digital layout with papers from Crafty Chaos Designs. The skull embellie is from Itkupilli. I don't remember the author of the quote.
Huh? Yep! You heard me correctly! The Smeared Ink and Simply Betty DTs are joining forces to bring you a Zombilicious blog hop! What brought this on? A mutual love for Zombies, of course! Well, that plus Simply Betty is sponsoring the Smeared and Smudged monthly Rock N Rolla and Funk Junk Challenges. If you enter these challenges and get picked by the random-number-picker-thingy you can win Simply Betty Zombie digis! Not only can you win Betty's zombie digis, but you will get a free digi image from Smeared Ink just for participating! How awesome is that?! In addition to sponsoring the Smeared and Smudged challenges this month, Betty was generous enough to allow the Smeared Ink DT to work with some of her zombies. This blog hop will feature projects made using Betty's Zombie Teen images. Hop around and leave some love then be sure to swing by the Smeared and Smudged forum to join in the challenges!
Here is my contribution:
For my project I used Zombie Lola and Zombie Christian.
It has been a cold, rainy day over here. My winter hibernation mode kicked back in and I decided to stay in and color. I can't believe it was almost 90 degrees just a few days ago! Ah...Chicagoland weather. I'd much rather be in the desert! Anyway, here's what I colored today:
This beautiful image was drawn by James Garza of JMG Creations. He has been kind enough to let me color a few of his line drawings. He is an amazing artist! Go check out his blog.
I colored this lovely lady with my Copic markers and colored the background with Distress Inks. Isn't she absolutely gorgeous?! I think I still need to add some shadows, but I was so excited with how this was turning out that I felt compelled to share it!
Here are a couple other JMG Creations I have added color to. Some are finished...some are not, but all are cool to look at. Click on the images to enlarge.
BTW...James and I are talking about a possible collaboration on some work. I'll keep you updated!
Thanks, James, for allowing me to work with your awesome artwork!

The challenge this week was "you are sublime". We were, using only Smeared Ink Stamps, to honor an important woman in our lives. I created this piece to honor my friend who sadly just parted ways with her soon to be husband. I created this to remind her how strong she is and to encourage her to move forward with elegance and grace. The image is from Smeared Ink's "Morbidly Adorable Tarot" set which was created by artist Misty Benson. The image was colored with copic markers.

Today I have a few great projects to share! I am on two design teams and today both require postings so I hope you don't mind if I combine them.
For starters I have a preview of another one of Simply Betty's "Scene Teens". The image is Lola and her pet rat, Louie. Random fact #1...my brothers and I all had pet rats in our teen years. I'd walk around with Vicious (my rat) on my shoulder and let him run on the grass (supervised of course). He always greeted me when I walked in the room by climbing to the top of his cage. He'd run around on my bed when I was doing homework and try to nibble my pencils. He was very social. Enough babble! Here's my project (click image to "biggie size" it):
Lola and Louie are colored with Copic markers. The papers are digis fromoscraps. Random fact #2: I just started playing with photoshop elements a few months ago. I bought the book "Photoshop for Dummies" and have been creating digially ever since. I still have a lot to learn, but I think I'm doing alright so far. Ok...enough with the babble again! Be sure to come back tomorrow for Day 3 of previews for Simply Betty's "Scene Teens".
But wait! There's more!Don't go away just yet!
There is a new release blog hop for Smeared Ink going on and I'd love it if you'd joined in on the fun!
The image was printed onto Copic x-press it cardstock and colored with copic makers. I then scanned my image and made a layout in photoshop with digi papers and elements. The shells are Itkupilli. All the other digital elements were from oscraps.
I colored two versions of the same image. I added a digi frame to them and posted them below so you can see the image larger and with more detail than above.
***Smeared Ink is having a sale for today only. Buy 2 digi sets and get one set free!***
Here is the hop list. Be sure to leave everyone a little love.
Oooops! Autopost flaked and forgot to post! Yikes! I hope Betty doesn't fire me!
We at SBS are building up to another new release from Simply Betty Stamps! Every day this week there will be a preview of a new image of the Teen Scene line, so be sure to check back on the SBS blog to see them all! I'll be back everyday this week as well with more previews for you.
First in the line-up, London and her pet cat Lynx:
London is colored with Copic markers on Copic X-press It cardstock. I then scanned her into my 'puter to work my magic. I followedKelli's scrapbook sketch so I can enter this into the scrapbook sketch challenge at Smeared and Smudged. The digi papers and elements are from various kits over at oscraps. I believe most of the papers are from the "Oh Boy" set and most of the elements are from the "school is cool" set.
Remember to stop back tomorrow for another preview!
Today I bring you a little project that I threw together last night for our gallery challenge. The Gallery Challenges are posted on Mondays and you have until Friday at midnight to post your projects to the linky on the Smudgy Antics Blog. Look on the left sidebar for "gallery challenge" and you can read the deets about voting and prizes.
This week's challenge was PIN IT UP! and here was the criteria:
"This challenge offers you numerous creative outlets, as the only criteria is to use a pin somewhere on your project. It can be a safety pin, a hat pin, a hair pin....if it is a type of pin, you can use it! Other than that, your project must be stamped somewhere. Remember you can only use Smeared Ink Stamps in this challenge, and your entry needs to be linked up by Friday at midnight. Good luck and Have Fun!"
Although it is too late for anyone reading this to join in the fun this week, come back on Monday for your next chance to play along. Also, please come back for voting each week even if you don't make a project. The gals work hard on their projects and would love to have their projects seen.
Here is my submission:

Hello, hello, hello everyone! Thank you for joining the Simply Betty DT again for our next challenge.
Mother's Day is just around the corner. It seems to me that each year it gets harder and harder for me to find my mom the perfect gift, so I have started making her a gift instead! She loves it, no returns, and I get just the right size for her!
Let's make something for Mom! All you have to do is create a card or project for Mom, a card, a page layout, a mini album, goodies bucket anything for Mom! Pretty easy challenge no?
I am the odd one in my family. What? That comes as no surprise to you? Why Thank You! I love being creative and a little bit "off". Luckily, my mom never tried to suppress that part of me, never tried to change me, and always accepted and enjoyed my quirky side. Here is the card I made for her:
