Smeared Ink's Design Team's End of Term/New Release Blog hop

It is the end of the DT term over at Smeared Ink.  We'll be saying goodbye to some of our amazing DT'ers, and hello to some rad new Smeared Ink images! Our wonderul Guest DT'ers will be playing along as well. Please be sure to hop along with us as we close out this term with a bang!

Here is the image I was given to work with:

We were challenged to not only create something with our new image, but to combine it with images from at least two other Smeared Ink Stamp Sets.  I chose to add images from the Femdom and the Glam Vamps Digi stamp sets.

 Here is my creation:

I hope this isn't too "out there" for you gals.  Honestly, the piece took on a life of it's own.  My inspiration came from the Urban Dictionary's definition of Shakari:

Shakari is actually two words made for one perfect fit...Shaka is the term wild, outrageous and full of fire. It also means tough, and high tempered when someone does shaka wrong- she instantly dismisses them..Ari is defined by sweet, beautiful, a sense of awe in presence.. when Ari loves, she loves deeply and has a certain respect for who she loves. Shakari means that this young lady is hot and cold- only if you respect her and love her back. She is born to be a star or a highly known figure in her time...be careful- she just might surprise you in every adventure she partakes in. She is very talented in EVERYHTING she does and is a fast learner. Be careful of how you treat her- she is most likely known to have a best friend called karma.

I combined my images in photoshop to create my final composition.  I then printed out my piece onto Copic X-Press it cardstock and went to town with my copic markers.  I added Glossy Accents to the decantur and glasses as well as Shakari's irises and lips.  I added some bling and mounted my piece onto black cardstock.

Thanks for looking!

Macabre Monday HDH080 - "Alas, poor Yorick" & Delicious Doodles

It's time again for another HDH Challenge.  This week's challenge was to use skulls.  Easey Peasey!  I'll be adding my project to Delicious Doodles Challenge as well.  The challenge at DD was to create a 3-D project.

I used a random human skull found online and tweaked it in photoshop.  I then printed three copies of it and added extra color with copic markers.  I cut out various sections of the skull and popped-up said areas with foam dimensionals.  The cog and wheel frame is from Delicious Doodles and is colored with copic markers.  I added a touch of glossy accents to some areas for a raised effect.  The blood splatter is from Smeared Ink's "Inky Dreams" rubber stamp set.  I used Distress inks in vintage photo, fire brick red, walnut, and black soot in this project.  I also added some clear embossing powder to select blood splatters for a little pop.

Cheers!

KKKG Challenge #36-ribbons or bows

I love Kenny K images and I try to play along with the Krafty Girlz' challenges whenever I can.  This week's challenge was to use ribbons or bows.  I only used one bow as I don't own too many frilly things.  Hopefully this counts:

Smeared Ink Saturday with the Smeared and Smudged Sketch Challenge

In today's edition of Smeared Ink Saturday with Lady B, I am contributing a project I made for the March Sketch Challenge over at the Smeared and Smudged Forum.

Here is a pic of the sketch:

Here is my take on the sketch:

As you can see, I've flipped the sketch and changed the flourish a bit.  I used an awesome Misty Benson image which was made into a rubber stamp set for Smeared Ink.  The set is called "Morbidly Adorable Tarot, set 1 and the image itself is "The World".  It can be purchased at the Smeared Ink Store.

I stamped the image with Memento Ink onto Copic X-Press it blending cardstock and colored it with my copic markers.  As you can tell, I am fond of bold, bright colors.  These divine papers are from Crafty Chaos Designs.  I am in love with the rich purple and greens in this set!  They print out as nicely as you see them on screen.

This month, if you participate in any of the challenges over at the Smeared and Smudged forum, you automatically receive a free digi and will be entered into a drawing for a digital stamp set of your choice from Smeared Ink!

Oh!  More big news!  Smeared Ink is having a Design Team Call!  Find the details here.

Thanks for Stopping By!

Spring is in the Air...almost

It's time again for Smeared Ink Saturday.

Although it's still chilly, spring is in the air.  The winds are picking up and the sun is shinning.  I spotted a robin the other day and saw some early spring flowers starting to poke out of the earth.  Today's project is reflective of spring and summer...bursting with color and romance.

Smeared and Smudged Member Blog Hop

It's that time again! Time for the Smeared and Smudged member blog hop.

Our theme this month was a color combo.  We were to use Brown and Green and a stamped image.

Here is some UBER COOL news...Strange Skin, one of our monthly sponsors, has offered to give two digis to one lovely winner of this blog hop!!! To qualify for this prize,  leave a comment on each participants blog.  The comment needs to say something about the project...not just "here's my comment" or anything lame like that!!! Every blogger will receive an entry to win the digis as well!!!

Wanna see the prize?  Here it is:

Here is my take on this month's blog hop challenge:

Happy Birthday, Mom!

Today is my mom's birthday so for this month's blog hop I made a card honoring her.  She's not into zombies, but she knows I am.  I've always been a bit...ummm...different!

This card uses "Zombie Christian" from SBS Zombie Teens collection.  The zombie teens will be released in both rubber and digital forms on April 29th.

Zombie Christian is colored with Copic Markers.  The background uses Ranger Distress Inks in Vintage Photo, Walnut, and Black Soot.  The black skulls and skeleton hand are rub-ons from Creative Imaginations.  The "Happy B-Day" letters were die-cut embellishments from a paper pack that I bought at the dollar store.  Sorry.  I don't remember the brand.  I also broke out my MS Drippy Goo punch and painted it with red glittery nail polish.  I hope you've enjoyed what I've created.  Thanks for stopping by.

Cheers!

The Computer ate my Original Project

Sorry for the late posting, but I'm having major computer issues today. I can't even retrieve the final version of my project so instead I will be showing a simple ATC I made. I used images from Smeared Ink's Femdom digital stamp set colored with copic markers and paired with an ATC background from Itkupilli. It is very simple, but I like the contrast between the bold color and the black and white. I feel like this is missing something. Perhaps a border or some dimension. I'll probably rework it. Maybe I'll do that and repost at another time.

Thanks for Stopping By!

I used Mary Jane and Zoe in my first project:  They are colored with copic markers and mounted on a retro car from Itkupilli.  The background was a free digi, but I can't remember where it came from.  It is colored with copic markers and distress inks.

My second project uses Veronica.  She is colored with copic markers and mounted on a stage ATC from Itkupilli.  The papers are from Crafty Chaos Designs.

Your next stop on the hop is the wonderful Linda.
